In times of a pandemic, the importance of hand washing becomes particularly significant. Only three out of five people worldwide have a simple possibility to wash their hands. 40 per cent of the world‘s population, or 3 billion people, are not able to wash their hands with soap and water at home.

Nearly three-quarters of people in the countries of the Global South do not have basic hand-washing facilities at home. 43 percent of schools do not have facilities for washing hands with soap and water. This affects 818 million school-age children. In the Global South seven out of ten schools do not have a place for children to wash their hands with soap and water.

Safe Tap can be installed by users into any existing bucket and canister with an included installation device, a simple round opening in the vessel is all that is required for the self-dosing water dispenser to be mounted and used. By pressing the release activator, a sufficient amount of water is supplied for hand washing. The water flow is stopped without further contact and thus enables hygienic and water-saving hand washing.
